British Values
As a School we already provide opportunities to develop pupil’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development. As part of this requirement, we also actively promote fundamental British Values. The government defines these as:
- Democracy
- The rule of law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs
Our school’s ethos already includes many aspects of these British Values and there are many overlaps with the School’s Christian Values. For example, we expect our children to show kindness to one another, show respect, tolerance, learn about justice and the difference between right and wrong. We teach democracy through our school council elections. To explore the values further in a fun, lively and memorable way we invited Pop Project into school.
